This set is composed by field recordings made in Taiwan without any modulation or layering.

Taipei Sound Unit(TSU) is a branch of China Sound Unit. TSU focuses on the audition, collection, analysis, reflection, deconstruction, and re-contextualization of humanistic soundscape of Taiwan. With the total respect of sound object/soundscape, TSU tries to capture the spontaneous (extra)ordinary moments of real life.

Recording gears: Sony Hi-MD MZ-M100, Sony TCD-D8 DAT, Sonic Studios DSM Binaural Microphones, Shure VP-88 Stereo Microphone, Audio-Technica AT825 Stereo Microphone.

Das Kleine Field Recording Festival is happening all around Berlin! Starting from Aug 1 to Aug 29, more than 20 artists will present their work in 10 places all over Berlin city. I will present my work “TSU - L’Objet Sonore Trouvé” on Aug 10, 21h, in Raum, Wedding. Here is the map. This concert will be live broadcast on the Odyssey Island of Second Life

“その音楽のオープニングは、どこかのお祭りに上げる花火(爆竹？)のようなサンプリング(だと思う)の轟音コラージュから始まり、そのリアルな音質と立体感にまず耳が釘付けになりました。その後がいわゆる視覚イメージを誘う私好みの抽象サウンドとなり、何楽章かに分かれたような作品となっているのですが、よくあるコンピューター・ミュージックとは異質な、サウンドはもちろん「音楽」についても非常に深い考察を試みながら作られた個性(形式)を感じました。いわゆる西洋の現代音楽手法とはちょっと異なる構造・プロセスですが、リズムのばらし方・音色の使い分けや重ね方・ダイナミズムの配分など、機械テクノロジーと人間の芸術的感性が見事に合致した作品ではないかと思いました。「新しさ」というものに感動したわけではないけれど、正統派電子音楽(笑)で心に残ったのものは久々です。”

“音樂的開場，是以節慶煙火（爆竹？）般的（應該是）採樣所做的轟音拼貼，你的耳朵首先被其真實的音質與立體感所吸引。之後音樂變成我喜愛的引發視覺形象的抽象聲響，整個作品彷彿分成好幾個樂章，與一般的電腦音樂相異，其聲響不用說，就是以「音樂」來說，也可以感受到他嘗試過非常深遠的考察才創造出來的個性（形式）。與平常西洋音樂手法的構造與處理法有點不同，解構旋律的方式、使用、重疊音色的方式與強弱的分配等，我認為可算是將機械科技與人類藝術感性完美結合的作品。雖不能算是種「嶄新」的感動，但很久沒有這樣印象深刻的正統派電子音樂（笑）了。”

Talk Talk Talk - Chinese Speech Art 中國語音前線 (2CD compilation)

Talk Talk Talk, it’s only talk 片名取自 King Crimson 的那首經典 Elephant Talk 的歌詞。是繼 Post-Concrete《中國聲音前線》之後的又一次大型雙碟選輯創作計劃。此碟創作概念世間未見，網羅自香港到哈爾演之間的十九位藝術家的作品。

Yan Shwei (Salty water) Bee-Firecracker is the biggest and most famous activity on Lantern Festival in Taiwan. This tradition originates from Ching dynasty, when the wide spread plague prevailed in this region. The rumour is that the god of Gwangung in the martial temple (Wu Myau) instructed people to let off firecrackers and get rid of the pestilence.

As its name, the Bee-Firecracker is made of hundreds of thousands small firecrackers in pile, just like a honeycomb. In the night of lantern festival, the crowds and the palanquin of gods run through the exploding bee-firecrackers to be blessed. With its extreme danger, this physical hearing experience fascinates me with unexpected shape of sound. Suggested to listen with headphones, but please be cautious of the unexpected high volume.

R.penguin is a pan-granular synthesis engine. The original sound sample was splited into different lengths of time grains, then hierarchically recomposed by the generative determinate/indeterminate algorithms.

R.penguin 是個“泛“顆粒合成引擎。它可將聲音切成極小的段落，亦可以是巨量時間片段，加以調變後再次疊加組合。與一般顆粒合成不同之處在於，它可依使用者所指定的演算法或隨機程序來重組，產生出帶有時間階層架構的豐富聲音。

Painàsonic is a compulsive synesthesia research. It intends to transform the invisible sound into private, subjective, concrete haptic senses.

This installation transforms sound into electric current impulses with different amplitude and time densities. Depending on the sound’s loudness, the audience would feel from no-sense, to itch, pain and even spasm in one’s hand. (But it’s totally harmless.)

As the artist described: “However, this is just a listening interface of my sound art. My intention is not to “epater la bourgeoisie”, but make the audience re-listen and reconsider the sound and the emotions of others behind the sound. It’s like a magnifying glass for the audience’s own aural psychology.”

The content of the sound would be up to the specific exhibition site. The artist would have to record in advance.

Painàsonic是個強制共感synthesesia研究，意圖將無形聲音轉為純私密的，主觀的，具體觸覺感受。

此裝置把聲音被轉換為強度，時間密度不等的脈衝電波。隨著聲音的強度不同，聽者感受到的可能是從最小的無感，到癢，到麻，到疼痛，甚至會是讓人手指肌肉抽搐的強力電擊（但保證無害）。

然而，這只是我聲音藝術的一個聆聽輸出界面而已。我的意圖不在於驚嚇聽者來譁眾取寵，而是讓聽者在此全私人的環境下重新審視聲音及其後的他者感受，可以說是個在聽覺心理上的放大鏡。

聲音內容則由該展出城市而定，事先由藝術家錄製。
